TSE cancels nearly 2 million of securities by Country

Brasilia- The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) announced this Friday that canceled almost two million titles in 24 electoral states of the country According to the advice of the TSE press, in all were cancelled 1,866,020 shares.

The Bahia led the ranking of cancellations: 677,790 voters have lost the title. Only there was no revision in Amapa, Roraima and the Federal District. The purpose of the review is settled electoral register, to prevent fraud and irregularities.

In the month of September 2007, the TSE decided to review the electorate in 1128 municipalities of the country, almost one fourth of the 5,564 Brazilian cities.

According to the advice of the TSE, Article 92 of Law on Elections determines the review when "the number of voters of the city is more than 80% of the population, total shipments of titles for the current year is 10% higher in relation the transfer of the previous year and the electorate is more than twice the population between 10 and 15 years, also added with more than 70 years. " According to the TSE, the three requirements must be met simultaneously.
